Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is among sacred pilgrimages in the world, it attracts thousands of devotees through a different part of the world every year. One of the most important aspects to consider during this journey is Accommodation and Facilities. Although the pilgrims will not be able to book their own accommodation, we know they need to have information about the accommodation they will stay, which is also one of the most critical aspects to consider.
The region offers a range of accommodation options, including hotels, guesthouses (Dormitory), and tents (which are now almost compromised), as per availability to Location. The Kailash pilgrims are less interested in the services since they are aware of the realities of the infrastructure and high expectations can ruin the overall experience.
Every Accommodation will provide you Electricity, Charging Plug, Light, etc instead during Mount Kailash Kora. But Sometimes Electricity or even Generator may go off during night time. This article will discuss the various aspects of accommodation with types, facilities, amenities, and more for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Let's understand about the accommodation in brief.
GuestHouse: Standard Accommodation
Guesthouses are a popular option for accommodation during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. They are usually smaller in size and provide a more intimate and personal experience compared to hotels. Guesthouses are typically located in small towns and villages along the route to Kailash Mansarovar and offer basic facilities.
Guesthouses are usually run by local families or individuals and offer a more authentic and personalized experience compared to hotels. One of the advantages of staying in a guesthouse is that it provides an opportunity to experience the local culture and way of life. They offer simple amenities such as comfortable beds, shared washrooms, and hot water. However, guesthouses in cities may offer more amenities and a higher level of comfort.
guesthouses accommodation available during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is also known as the dormitory system. A dormitory system lets several pilgrims and visitors share a large room with basic facilities like beds, blankets, and shared washrooms.
One of the advantages of staying in a dormitory is that it provides an opportunity to spend time with fellow travelers and share experiences. It is also an excellent option for those who want to immerse themselves in the local culture and way of life.
However, it is essential to note that the (Guest House) dormitory system may not be suitable for everyone. It is advisable to bring earplugs and an eye mask as the noise level may be high, and the lighting may not be suitable for everyone's comfort. It is also essential to bring your bedding, such as a sleeping bag or a blanket, as some dormitories may not provide them and depend upon your Kailash Tour Operator.

Tent: Camping
Camping was among the most used accommodation back in 2015 during Kailash Mansarovar Yatra due to the lack of hotels and GuestHouse. Nowadays, there are accommodation services provided by locals in the location where travelers stay overnight. That makes Camping not essential during the Yatra.
Yet, Most of the Yatra Organizers will arrange the camping and you have to ask them before organizing the trip. Camping in Yatra needs preparation beforehand and organizers have to carry all the tents, sleeping bags, and Mats which are essentials for overnight.
One of the Concerns during Camping is a Toilet Facility. Organizers will carry portable Toilets for camping trips and luxury toilets cannot be expected at all.

Why is Kailash Yatra lacking Hotel facilities?
The Kailash Yatra takes place in rural and anonymous region of Tibet. Tibet overall is new to tourism although many tourists want to explore the valley and culture that has been hidden from the modern world. The lodging during the Yatra has a few amenities because there are very few accessibilities.
Secondly, the hotels and Guesthouse are open only during the season and when Kailash Season is in effect. This season runs from May to September and during off-season there are no human civilization in the locations that makes the accommodation shut down. It is impossible to operate during the off-season where there will be no person at all and the weather is not suitable for human civilization.
