Langtang Valley After the 2015 earthquake

Route Overview

The journey of Langtang Valley Trek starts with the jeep drive to Syaprubeshi from Kathmandu. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will start to walk on the hilly road. The trail is very easy because it is on the motor-able road for most of the part. This is a very exciting day. After breakfast, we will start to walk towards Langtang Valley. While walking within the Ghoda Tabela the Bamboo forests is the home of Red Panda which endow the chance of their sighting. If you see the red panda then it has to be the most prolific day. How difficult is Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang Valley Trek is the closest trek to embark from Kathmandu. Many trekkers trek to Langtang on their own. Some find the journey easy as mentioned on the internet. Yet, the journey is of moderate difficulty. the terrain and the altitude are difficult for the rookies. you will be trekking at an altitude of over 3000m and might suffer from Acute Mountain Sickness.

The Langtang Valley route is also a concern. Langtang Valley is often suffered from natural disasters and Landslides. you will never know the disaster in the route. the risk of Glacier Landslides is also a risk factor. You will also be walking for 5 to 6 hours a day and prepare well for the journey.

If you are intermediate and have performed a high-altitude trek in the Himalayas then you will find the journey comfortable. The trek is short in distance than other treks in Nepal. If you trek an entire Langtang region through our extra route then you need good preparation.

Still for your information, to begin your walk-in at Langtang National Park. you must first drive to Syabrubesi, Dunche, or Sano Barkhu. From Kathmandu, public buses are available to book a ticket day earlier, but they are slow. Sharing a seat in a public bus is more than a hassle; traveling Bumpy roads will be a pain.

Yolo Hike will operate the transportation in a private vehicle. A private car or jeep is a far superior alternative. If you have a large group we will arrange a Hiace which will be far comfort than Bus. Unless you hike across Gosainkunda and back through Helambu to Kathmandu, you must return via the same path. even if you extend your Trip we will keep a vehicle on standby for the trail

Permits and Regulations

If you are trekking to Langtang Valley, you need to arrange your permits. you can buy a permit through Tourism Board. If you are trekking with a Travel operator like Yolo Hike will manage all the permits and requirements. You also need to carry a copy of your passport, Visa, and other supporting documents.

A TIMS card and a Langtang National Park pass are a must as a permit. We will take care of these details if you're traveling with a Yolo Hike. You'll need to get your TIMS permission in Kathmandu. you can get a Langtang National Park permits in Dunche if you're organizing the trek yourself.

Alternative Routes

The Langtang Trek provides you with the classic Langtang Valley route. an option as Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek takes you to the mythic trail of Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Lake. you can also combine with the neighboring Tamang Heritage.

These extensions will add a path for an extra 4-6 days to your itinerary. you will learn more about the Tamang ethnic group, which originated in Tibet. This will take a different route to return to Kathmandu driving back.

Gosainkunda is a stunning high-altitude blue lake at an altitude of 4380m. It is always better to trek to Gosainkunda on the way back from Langtang. the route on the way up to Gosaikunda is a steep ascent. you will be better acclimatized at this stage.
