This extended period is dedicated to the climb of Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest peak in the world. The climbing phase involves the following key activities:

  • Base Camp Preparation: The initial days focus on organizing equipment, acclimatization climbs, and setting up the necessary infrastructure for a successful ascent. This includes establishing Camp I (5,700m), Camp II (6,400m), Camp III (6,800m), and Camp IV (7,450m).
  • Acclimatization and Training: Climbers will undergo acclimatization rotations to higher camps and return to Base Camp to adapt to the altitude. Technical training sessions are also conducted to prepare for the challenging sections of the climb, including glacier travel, crevasse crossings, and steep snow and ice slopes.
  • Summit Push: The summit attempt typically begins from Camp IV, with climbers starting in the early hours of the morning to reach the summit by sunrise. The route to the summit involves negotiating technical sections and navigating through exposed ridges. Upon reaching the summit (8,163m), climbers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Shishapangma.
  • Support Team: Experienced Sherpas provide guidance and support throughout the climb, ensuring safety and logistical efficiency. Oxygen supplies, fixed ropes, and other essential equipment are strategically placed to assist climbers.
