“Tsum Valley Trek – Explore Nepal through hidden valleys”
The Tsum Valley Trek starts with a long drive along the Prithvi Highway to Arughat and then till Soti Khola. The road conditions after Dhading Bensi might get a little rough. The trek starts the next day as we hike along the Budi Gandaki River before descending through a Sal forest to make it to the village of Khursane. An uphill hike from Khursane takes us to Lapurbesi and subsequently, to Machha Khola. Keep on the track along the Budi Gandaki River to get past Tatopani and Dobhan. The hike will eventually lead us to Jagat. This marks our entry at the Manaslu Conservation Area, which is home to over 33 species of mammals and over 110 species of birds. Get on the rocky trails to make it to Salleri. Descend to Sirdibas and hike uphill again to Philim. From Philim, it’s an easy hike downhill to Chisapani.
We’ll reach Chumling the next day after crossing Kungwa and Siyar Khola. Similarly, we’ll make it to Chokhangparo after passing over the Serpu Khola. On the 10th day of our trek, we’ll arrive at the village of the Nile. But, before getting there, we’ll come across the Rachen Nunnery, established in 1936 by Drupa Rinpoche. An easy uphill hike from the Nile will see us at Mu Gompa. Explore the Mu Gompa and the Dephu Doma Gompa. Also, learn more about the local culture and tradition of the village. We’ll trek to the Burgi village next. En-route, we’ll explore the Milarepa Cave or Pigeon Cave. This cave was used as a resting place by the Tibetan saint, Milarepa. He is considered one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and spiritual poets. Hike back to Philim through Chumling before trekking back to Soti Khola. Get to Arughat through local markets and end the trip after a long drive to Kathmandu.
This trek is designed for those who want to explore Nepal through the hidden valleys of the country.
