Starting the Circuit with Nar Phu Valley

The adventure begins as you set foot on the trail, starting with the lesser-known route of Meta leading us to Nar Phu Valley. Tucked away in a remote corner of the Annapurna region, Nar Phu Valley is a hidden gem that offers a surreal experience of untouched wilderness. Itinerary

    You will take a flight from your home to Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal! Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by representative of Yolo Hike and get transferred to your hotel. You will take some time for refreshment and before starting your adventure next day. In the evening, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, Kathmandu's popular tourist hub, and sample some delicious Nepalese cuisine and buy if any essential packing is left behind.

      After an early breakfast, we will start our journey towards Koto, the starting point of Nar Phu Trek and closer by Chame, the starting point of Annapurna Circuit. The scenic drive takes us through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and quaint villages of multi ethnic communities. Along the way, you will catch glimpses of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, building excitement for the days ahead. After a long drive, we will reach Koto and settle into our Tea House for the night.

        The Trek begins in earnest as we set off from Koto towards Meta. We will ramble along the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through narrow roads, dense forests and crossing water ways and few of the suspension bridges. We will traverse terraced fields, charming villages, and cascading waterfalls. After a rough and lengthy walk, we will reach Meta, a small village nestled in a scenic valley, and rest for the night.

          Get ready for a day of the first trek with a stunning scenery as we make our way from Meta to Phu. The trail winds through pristine and diverse landscapes, with high altitude mountain peaks and glaciers on the horizon overhead. We will pass through alpine meadows serene with yaks, cross wooden bridges over pouring rivers, and wonder at the surreal beauty of the rugged terrain. As we approach Phu, we will catch our first glimpse of the ancient monastery perched atop hill, a sight that will leave you awe-struck. We will spend the night in Phu, immersing ourselves in the rich cultural heritage of this remote village.

            To ensure a safe and successful trek, we will spend a day acclimatizing in Phu. This will give our bodies time to adjust high altitude and reduce risk of altitude sickness. Phu is a great acclimatize point as you can explore the hidden culture and architects of village, chhortens and ancient complex and its surroundings, interact with the friendly locals, and learn about their traditional way of life. You can also hike to nearby viewpoints for breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II.

              Leaving Phu behind, we will march towards Nar Phedi, located at the base of the Kang La Pass. The trail takes us through desolate landscapes like of Tibet, with surreal rock formations and decorated with colorful prayer flags adorning the landscape. We will cross several high suspension bridges and pass through narrow cliffs and gorges, making our way deeper in the rugged wilderness. As we approach Nar Phedi, we will be treated to stunning views of Nar village and its ancient monastery.

                Today, we will reach Nar, a picturesque village known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. The trail takes us along ancient trade routes connected with China, following Labse river and passing through colorful Buddhist monasteries with Bamboo tops, mani walls, and chhortens to ascend towards Nar village. We will take a time to explore the village and interact with the locals to gain insights into their unique way of life that is preserved and maintained its authenticity although the Nar village is quite near from the Annapurna Trail. The locals spend most of their time cultivating for their daily life and weaving wools.

                  One of the highlights of our trek awaits us today as we cross the first challenging pass among two high pass. We will start our trek before the dawn and embark to cross Kangla Pass at an altitude of 5,322 meters. The pass offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri mountain ranges and Tilicho peak. Descending from the pass, we will reach the small settlement where we will have our lunch and proceed towards Nagwal, a small village nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Overnight at Nagwal.

                    We continue our trek towards Manang, a bustling village located at an altitude of 3,540 meters. The trail takes us through terraced fields, charming traditional villages, and picturesque landscapes. Manang is a popular stop for trekkers to rest and acclimatize before heading towards higher altitudes. We will explore the village, visit the local monasteries.

                      Another day for acclimatization in Manang to ensure that our bodies are adjusted to the high altitude. You can take this opportunity to go on short hikes to nearby viewpoints or explore the unique landscapes around Manang. You can also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association clinic, which provides valuable information on altitude sickness and mountain safety. Manang valley offers an opportunity to explore diverse flora and fauna in the foot of Alpine Himalayas which beholds herbs and stones which was also traded abroad which made Manang resident as traders of Nepal. You will find numerous grazing field of Yak and Sheep and people passing by the routes to supply.

                        Leaving Manang behind, we continue our trek towards Shree Kharka, a small settlement located at an altitude of 3,700 meters. As you walk in the trail the fresh fragrance of multi flowers collected by a smooth wind welcomes you in the spring. The trail takes us through beautiful forests of pine and rhododendron, with stunning views of the Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks and Tilicho peak welcoming us. Shree Kharka is a perfect spot for the night.

                          Today, we embark on an exciting trek to Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world at an altitude of 4,919 meters. The initial routes take us through deserted and unhabituat Khangsar village passing by thousand-year-old Tare Gompa. The trail then takes us through steep and rocky terrain, with challenging ascents and descents. However, the pristine beauty of Tilicho Lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks makes it all worthwhile.

                          On the way we will stop at Tilicho Base Camp for the Lunch as there will not be any point further. The two sculptures of Lord Shiva and Buddha provides a colorful and picturesque highlight to the lake. We will spend some time at the lake, soaking in the breathtaking scenery before trekking back to Tilicho Base Camp for the night.

                            Leaving Tilicho Base Camp, we continue our trek towards Yak Kharka, a small settlement located at an altitude of 4,050 meters. The trail takes us through alpine meadows, crossing Thorong river and numerous streams, and offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks. Keep an eye out for yaks grazing in the high grasslands as we make our way to Yak Kharka, where we will spend the night.

                              Our trek takes us higher as we make our way to Thorong Phedi, the base camp for the Thorong La Pass. The trail becomes steeper and more challenging, but the mesmerizing landscapes make it all worthwhile. Thorong Phedi is a small settlement with basic teahouses, The massive Thorong Peak will greet us all the time never wanting to look back to the life where the peace and nature bounds you. we will rest watching the mountains and prepare for the challenging pass which we will cross the next day.

                                Today is a big day as we cross the famous Thorong La Pass, the highest pass in the world at an altitude of 5,416 meters. This is the second-high altitude pass we cross. The pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, but the altitude and steep ascent can be challenging. We will start early in the morning and take our time to cross the pass safely. After the morning the it will be very hard to cross the pass as the strong wind will hit you hard and take your soul away. There is a lot of accidental case among solo travelers who do not have information. So, we will approach it soon.

                                In Thorong La, we will wander and enjoy our achievement and capture some photos in the colourful prayer flags that visitors and locals hang each time they cross it. From the top, we will descend to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, known for its ancient temples and natural beauty. We will visit Muktinath temple and offer our prayers and stay overnight.

                                  We continue our trek downwards to Jomsom, a popular town in the Mustang region known for its unique landscape and culture. The trail takes us through arid landscapes, barren hills, and traditional villages of Lower Mustang. We will traverse through Lubra and trail along the Kali Gandaki river which is famous for Saligram stones, the pristine stone among Hindu and approach towards Jomsom, also famous for its apple orchards and local apple products, so make sure to try some delicious apple pies and cider while you're here.

                                    Today, we take a scenic flight in the morning from Jomsom to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city and a popular tourist destination in Nepal. Upon arrival, explore the city, and celebrate the completion of our epic trek. You can go boating on Phewa Lake, visit local markets, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range.

                                     

                                      Today you will take a scenic drive along the Marshyandi and Trishuli river to reach Kathmandu. If you take a alternate flight we will reach Kathmandu in the past morning. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will have free time to do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs, explore the city, or simply relax and reflect on your amazing adventure in the Annapurna region.

                                        It's time to say goodbye to Nepal and Yolo Hike as you depart from Kathmandu with memories of a lifetime. Our team will assist you to the airport for your onward journey and bid you a farewell.
