Weather Conditions

Poon Hill is best visited between April and May, and between September and early December. The weather is perfect, you will experience a clear sky, and the temperature is moderate. It will be roughly 5 to 12 degrees Celsius during these seasons.

During Summer temperatures hover around 18 degrees Celsius making it hot while hiking. while evenings are mild. While trekking in Winter is an obvious decision. the temperature rises around 3 degrees during the day and -3 degrees during the night.

The lodges are warm in the evenings when the fire is lit. the beds are not heated, but you will not be cold if you bring a nice sleeping bag.

Packing list for Poon Hill

Packing is an essential thing while trekking Poon Hill. Being a short itinerary, you do not need excessive packing. You can consider your basic packing list. Yet, trekking in winter will add a good amount of weight.

During the trekking period, T-shirts, shorts, track pants, and fleece come great. long-sleeved sweaters and hoodies can be great sub-layer for early mornings and evenings. Pack your sports shoes for a stroll and quality Boots for a distant walk.

The Winter season packing list adds some extra essentials. you need to pack a good pair of warm and buffer jackets with a thermal layer. Pack your sleeping bag and a hot water bag to keep your body warm.
